I liked what you said when you asked PEOPLE “where do YOU ‘really’ go for personal health information.” My husband and I recently subscribed to Consumer Reports after years of debating, only to finally realize how “scientific” it is. Like you, I appreciate science VERY much.. but it is only so good at predicting truths and realistically- realities… outside of the lab. I know consumer reports now incorporates REAL consumer reviews… but sometimes you don’t get a good feel for them until AFTER you’ve already purchased something that looked GREAT in studies or on paper but in-hand is a completely different story. Of course these concepts apply even more significantly when someone’s HEALTH is at stake.
