bowlerRe: Sexual abuse — Absolutely feel the abuse I suffered for 13 years, until I realized what it was and was able to fight it off changed my body image and made me feel horrible about myself.
MagentaRe: Unable to comprehend body size in a mirror — I have had this along w/ other dysmorphic (sp?) symptoms over the years but notice it is not so bad lately, maybe it decreases as one gets older?
zallersRe: Low self-esteem — For a short period of time I was hyper-conscious of the way I looked. I didn't wear half my wardrobe, and constantly checked myself in the mirror.
zallersRe: Feeling fat — I only gained 10lbs, and even though I'm still underweight- I felt huge at first! It led me to crash diet and a little lower self-esteem for a short period. Thank goodness I love myself again!
zallersRe: Track caloric intake/food eaten — I tracked everything I ate every day for a month after gaining 10 lbs. I lost about 5. I wouldn't have been able to keep up the healthy eating habits and exercise routine without tracking it everyday. I attribute 100% of my success to tracking. It can be tedious to track every detail, but studies have shown it makes a difference. We are so much more aware of what we eat. Tracking really helped me get over the hurdle and through the less-motivating times.
