Re: Urinary frequency — Around 60 times a day morning and night it is the most, every 15 20 mins I need to go.

Re: Neuropathic medications — my mistake - I meant to post this under treatments that help. How can I change this?

Re: Urinary frequency — What CURED getting repeated UTI's was d-mannose. It is a simple sugar and you mix it with water. After a year of 1 UTI/month, this was a miracle for me (and natural). My urinary frequency decreased after the yearlong UTI assault. I also started using grapefruit seed extract (GSE) a natural antibiotic which seemed to help with the frequency. I highly recommend it as I have taken the prescription meds which left me feeling stupid, slow (the muscle relaxants for my bladder, etc. and didn't work). I have long believed I had a hidden bacteria/infection as the root cause of my problems but nothing has ever shown up on a test, following the UTI's. My frequency/urgency are normal although my vulvar inflammation mimics those symptoms sometimes.

Re: Long-term antibiotics — I actually have been on antibiotics for 3 years for Lyme. Haven't had any problems since I started them...not sure that it's connected. I take probiotics which seems to help keep good bacteria around.

Re: Alkalizing of urine — I take sodium bicarbonate at night, and it seems to help.

Re: Painful urination — I'm lucky mine is pretty mild. avoiding cranberry juice helps a lot. There is some mystery food that seems to cause it, and also if my bladder gets really full it happens.

Re: Pelvic pain — sometimes causes the pudendal nerve to become inflammed. it doesn't happen very often though, it is extremely painful when it does.

Re: Glucosamine — Taking glucoasmine has compeletly taken care of my symptomes (pain, urgency, frequency, burning....) as long as I'm not under very stressful conditions. It takes a few months to kick in but has no side effects unlike antidepressants which I've also tried. I also take chondroitin and MSM with it which seems to make it kick in a little faster but I've heard that chondroitin can make some people worse?

Re: Long-term antibiotics — It worked, but I think my body may have suffered longer-term consequences from killing off good bacteria for so long. I don't know if I would ever do that again.
