my neuropathy may possibly have been caused by stopping effexor. either going back on effexor or going on alpha lipoic acid 200mg 3x day has helped. keeping feet warm helps.

Important note about the ReBuilder Treatment System (http://www.rebuildermedical.com).

This SHOULD NOT be used on TENS unit setting for neuropathy. You should follow instructions and make incremental increases in your treatment under guidance of your doctor and according to The Rebuilter Treatment instructions.

Special safety alert: There is only one ReBuilder, and you should be careful not to accept any substitutes such as a regular TENS or cheap, imported, socks or gloves.

Since I’ve started using The Rebuilder Treatment System, I’ve regained movement in my toes, which were previously numb and lifeless. I can now feel temperatures again, and I even walk better at times without my cane though I am still careful since I have lymphedema in the same leg as a result of post-radiation burn for colorectal cancer surgery! The greatest result from this treatment is that it has virtually eliminated all of the painful neuropathy symptoms. I am so grateful to God for this and for finally gaining some relief. You can visit or write to me through my blog http://chatwithdeedee.wordpress.com/ if you have any questions about my story.

See Insurance/medicare form: https://rebuilder-dme.com/intake.php

Re: Tingling — I had severe pain, even with gabapentin RX which helped some but still caused increased numbness, burning, stabbing pains and instability.

Re: ReBuilder Treatment System (TENS) — Several months ago my daughter noticed that the Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) uses ReBuilder Treatment System which I noted on their site under post-colorectal cancer survivors treatment and neuropathy. The suggestions I found through my research were that this treatment should be coupled with therapy which meant co-pays on top of the initial cost. I actually purchased the systemhalf price through their Canadian vendor for a limited time offer (http://www.rebuildermedical.com). Since I’ve started using it, I’ve regained movement in my toes, which were previously numb and lifeless. I can now feel temperatures again, and I even walk better at times without my cane though I am still careful! The greatest result from this treatment is that it has virtually eliminated ALL of the painful neuropathy symptoms and I have been able to slowly wean off the gabapentin. I am so grateful to God for this miracle and for finally gaining some relief.

I highly recommend investigating if you have neuropathy to determine whether or not this treatment is right for you. It is also covered up to 80% by Medicare.

Re: Burning — Occurs while sleeping. Always in the same location on the top of right foot, above the small toe.

Re: Stabbing pain — I refer to my 'stabbing pain' as 'pinpricks.' They're not as severe, perhaps, as an actual stab - at least, not usually. Occasionally they'll stop me in my tracks. And they can happen anywhere on my body: my feet, calf, shoulder blade, etc. Once I thought I was being stung by an insect - turned out there was nothing there.

Re: Tingling — Tingling is the major feature of my neuropathy. It manifests - or feels like - itching in my feet, somewhat in my hands, and pretty severely in my scalp (which is not supposed to happen, according to my doc). I count myself lucky, as my neuropathy is not generally painful, aside from occasional pinprick stabbing sensations throughout my body.

Re: Idiopathic — The doctor could not figure out the cause of my foot neuropathy, thus it is called idiopathic.

Re: Difficulty standing for long periods — I have balance issues because I am only able to use the heel part of my feet.

Re: B12 injections — My neuropathy is in part to do with my pernicious anemia, though I find since I developed fibromyalgia sometimes when I have a flair the pain will be accompanied by neuropathy in my hands

Re: Stabbing pain — I have had a constant headache for 5 weeks now. Along with sharp shooting pains in the right side of my head and tingling, numbness and sensitivity over the right side of my scalp. I now have numbness and tingling in the right side of my face, neck, ear and all down the right arm to my fingertips. My neurologist has prescribed Gabapentin 100mg. I hope these sort me out because I am getting quite frustrated with the constant headache, which never goes away, and the internittent shooting pains, also the numbness and tingling are such strange feelings.

Re: Exquisite sensitivity in affected area — The constancy of all the symptoms including the awful sensitivity make it very debilitating. I am trying to find a homoeopathic treatment that will ease the pain. If anyone has found anything that helps, without costing a fortune, I'll be pleased to hear about it.

Re: Difficulty standing for long periods — Yes can sometimes find it hard to stand for long periods of time but other times I can do so.

Re: Exquisite sensitivity in affected area — Yes I have intensive sensitivity in my feet. But it does go up & down, depending on my general condition.

Bree
Re: Tingling — I don't really have tingling as such.

Bree
Re: Painful numbness — I have no numbness. If anything I have heightened feeling in my feet

Re: Stabbing pain — Not always, only when tired & rundown.
