i think it might be helpful to have a much detailed survey on period pattern.
Personally, i've benefited from keeping my legs/feet (feet especially) warm all the time, and regularly exercising (every two days).

Re: Regular exercise — By doing regular exercise I could shed off a few kilos which were added on to my weight as a result of PCOS.

Re: Stress — Yes its true that my PCOS was triggered after my day to day life became more stressful.

Re: Irregular menstrual cycles — since puberty i always had irregular menstrual cycles. After I became 21 years old my menstrual cycles stopped for six month at a stretch. when i consulted doctor i was diagnosed with PCOS. I am taking treatment for PCOS now

Re: Celiac Disease — Symptoms much much worse after going gluten free from Coeliac Disease. Also low iron and severely low vitamin D (which acts as a hormone) I am sure have affected / aggrevated things in some way.

Re: Maca — Taking maca every day helps prevent moodswings for me. Not sure why it works, but when I don't take it, watch out.

Re: Skin tags (around neck or armpit area) — Have been getting these since age 22, more appearing every year

Re: Stress — It seems that every time I've been in a high-stress situation, it has triggered my PCOS. The cyst(s) seems to be aggravated to the point of they swell and rupture (and it has happened 4 times with me in the last year) when I am extremely stressed.

Re: Cyproterone — My severe acne has gone in 3 months and did not come back. Hair on my belly sarted to disapear in 6 months. I stoped because I wanted to be on a more natural regimen. But as soon as I experienced some stress, other symptoms apeared (major weight gain that will not go even with diert and exercise). I think going back to cyproterone and see what bit does to these new symptoms.

Re: Obesity — I'm not sure what's the chicken and what's the egg. Does IR cause obesity or does obesity cause IR? Or are my hormones the root cause. Were my hormones messed up because of environmental factors and that led to the PCOS?

Re: Insulin resistance — Not every woman with PCOS has marked insulin resistance, but it's entirely too common a finding to be coincidental, especially when the condition responds to treatment of insulin resistance (weight loss, metformin, etc).
